With Christmas right around the corner, you may be racking your brain for gifts to give the little ones in your life. Gifts that are fun and playful, but are also good quality and practical. As a pediatric physical therapist and gross motor specialist, I’m always on the hunt for toys that match that description…both for my own child and my young patients… and I’m always being asked for toy recommendations.

Based on over a decade of experience as a pediatric physical therapist and over six years of being a boy mom, my criteria for toys are longevity and promotion of gross motor skill development.
