Milestones At Play, LLC

  • In accordance with Title IV of the Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and its implementing regulations, Milestones At Play, will not directly or through contractual or other arrangements, discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national origin in its admissions or provision of services and benefits, including assignments or transfers or referrals to or from Milestones At Play. Staff privileges are granted without regard to race, color, or national origin.  
  • In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and its implementing regulations, Milestones At Play, will not directly or through contractual or other arrangements, discriminate on the basis of handicap in admissions, treatment, or employment. 
  • In accordance with the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 and its implementing regulations, Milestones At Play, will not directly or through contractual or other arrangements, discriminate on the basis of age in the provision of service, unless age is a factor necessary for the normal operation or the achievement of any statutory objective.  
  • It is the policy of Milestones At Play not to discriminate on the basis of disability. Milestones At Play has adopted an internal grievance procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (29 U.S.C. 794) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulations implementing the Act.  

Any person who believes he or she has been subject to discrimination on the basis of disability may file a grievance under this procedure. It is against the law for Milestones At Play to retaliate against anyone who files a grievance or cooperates in the investigation of a grievance.  

Procedure for Grievances: 

  • Grievances must be submitted to Milestones At Play withing 7 days of the date of the person filing the grievance becomes aware of the alleged discriminatory action. 
  • A complaint must be in writing, containing the name and address of the person filing it. The complaint must state the problem or action alleged to be discriminatory and the remedy or relief sought.  
  • The owner of Milestones At Play shall conduct an investigation of the complaint. The investigation may be informal, but must be thorough, affording all interested people an opportunity to submit evidence relevant to the complaint. The owner will maintain files and records for Milestones At Play relating to such grievances.  
  • The owner will issue a written decision on the grievance no later than 30 days after its filing.  
  • The availability to use of this grievance procedure does not prevent a person from filing a complaint of discrimination on the basis of disability with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights.  
  • Milestones At Play will make appropriate arrangements to ensure that disabled persons are provided other accommodations, if needed, to participate in this grievance process. Such arrangements may include, but are not limited to, providing interpreters for the deaf, providing taped cassettes of material for the blind, or assuring a barrier-free location for the proceedings. The owner is responsible for making such arrangements.
